Pure Pit Balm is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. You will still sweat, but that is what your body is designed to do! In fact, sweating is your body’s way of eliminating toxins. The scary thing about commercial antiperspirants/deodorants is that they contain aluminum and aluminum toxicity has been linked to cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease. It is particularly important for women to avoid the harmful aluminum materials as it has been linked to breast cancer. Commercial deodorants also contain parabens, which work to stabilize and preserve the ingredients, but again, these are absorbed by our skin.
Pure Pit Balm, on the other hand, uses 100% natural and pure ingredients. In fact, 71% of the ingredients are certified organic! So what’s in this formula? Certified organic coconut oil, certified organic shea butter, certified organic arrowroot powder, and aluminum-free baking soda, plus essential oils for the scented versions…and that’s it!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Coconut oil naturally moisturizes the skin and has healing properties. It also has antioxidant, anti-microbial, and
antiseptic properties. The baking soda kills the bacteria that causes odor in your armpits, and the arrowroot powder works to thicken the formula, making it easy to apply and also serving to absorb some moisture caused by sweat. So while Pure Pit Balm is not an antiperspirant, per se (i.e. it doesn’t clog your pores, stopping all sweat from leaving your armpits), it does a darn good job of keeping you stink-free and drier than all natural deodorants we have tried (and trust me, we’ve tried a lot!)
